Deliver yourself, without a platform
Many businesses already deliver themselves, but the orders come in through a platform that takes a cut of each one. With your own ordering site, every delivery stays your revenue.
That also works where no platform goes: in smaller towns, on the edge of the city, or for an offer no platform covers, such as breakfast on a Sunday morning or lunch for an office.
Set your delivery area
In the admin you draw your delivery area on a map. There are two ways.
- Rings around your shop: for example up to 3 km, up to 6 km and up to 9 km, each ring with its own price, measured in a straight line from your location.
- Places and postcodes: you pick the places or postcodes you serve and group them into zones.
A place inside a ring that you would rather not drive to can be taken out. You can also pause a place for a few days, for example when a driver is off.
Fee, minimum order, free delivery
For each zone you set three values.
- Delivery fee: for example 1.50 € in the first ring and 3.50 € in the outermost.
- Minimum order: so the trip pays off; the further out, the higher.
- Free from: if you like, you deliver without a fee above an order value. The cart shows the guest how much is missing.
Free delivery also works as a promotion, with its own code you give to regulars or an office nearby. The delivery fee appears with the correct VAT on the receipt and in the daily close.
What the guest sees
The guest searches for their street, and every suggestion already shows whether you deliver there and at what price. They do not need to know postcodes. Before they add anything to the cart, they know what delivery costs.
- Pickup or delivery is one tap, if you offer both.
- Contactless delivery on request: your driver leaves the order at the door.
- After paying, their order page shows when the order is accepted and on its way.
Right away or ordered ahead
Guests order as soon as possible or for later, including one of the next days. For each place you set delivery times, such as Saturdays and Sundays from 8 to 11 in a neighbouring town.
If you only deliver on pre-order, switch off ordering for right away. Each guest then picks a delivery window, and the evening before you see what goes out tomorrow.
In the kitchen and at the door
Every delivery appears in the kitchen panel with its address, phone number and a link to the route. The printed ticket carries the address and phone as well. Once the order is ready you mark it as on its way, and the guest sees it at once.
What it costs
Delivery is included in OwnGo’s price, with no surcharge and no commission: 49 € a month on a 12-month term or 59 € cancellable monthly. Each card payment only carries Stripe’s fee, currently 1.5 % + 0.25 € for standard EEA cards. The money goes straight to your account.
