How we calculate

  • Commission: orders × order value × commission rate.
  • OwnGo: €49 on a 12-month contract or €59 cancel monthly, plus Stripe’s fee per order (1.5% of the amount + €0.25).
  • Break-even: the monthly price divided by what you save per order (commission minus card fee).

How the money flows with your own ordering system is explained in our guide to online ordering without commission.

What the calculator doesn’t show

A platform brings you guests who don’t know your restaurant yet. That is real value, and no calculator can put a number on it. Equally, it doesn’t show what you gain with your own site: your guests’ data stays with you, and your Google profile leads straight to your ordering page.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How many orders does it take for a fixed price to pay off?

With a €25 order value and 13% commission, a fixed price of €49 is cheaper from about 19 online orders a month, card fees included. Enter your own figures and the calculator shows the exact number.

Does the calculator include card fees?

Yes, on the OwnGo side. For every payment we include Stripe’s fee for standard EEA cards, currently 1.5% + €0.25. The platform’s own payment fees are not included.

Should I give up the platform altogether, then?

Not necessarily. Platforms bring new guests. Many restaurants let new guests order through the platform and offer their regulars their own ordering page, for example through Google and a QR code on the bag.

Does OwnGo cost anything beyond the monthly price?

No. There is no commission per order and no setup fee. The only fee per card payment is Stripe’s, and the money goes straight to your account.
